If you decide to scrap the washing machine act responsibly and observe local waste disposal bylaws. Cut off the power cord so that the appliance cannot be connected to the mains. x x SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND ADVICE x x x Before cleaning or carrying out maintenance, unplug the appliance from the mains. [. . . ] Important: Do not select a higher temperature than “MIN” because this could damage your laundry or appliance. You can do a normal wash after this “prebleach” cycle, adding more laundry that does not require bleach treatment. Add detergent to the main wash dispenser compartment and start a wash programme. Because heavily soiled articles have already been given a pre-bleach treatment, you can use a lower temperature for the main wash and save on power consumption. If the appliance does not have the specific bleach compartment only the pre-bleach method is possible. Close the detergent drawer completely. vx x x H g x x H x g g x x 8 M 8 Y N C DYEING AND BLEACHING DYEING AND BLEACHING Dyeing: pour the dye directly into the drum. x Use exclusively dyes and bleaches recommended for washing machines. x x Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Plastic and rubber parts of the machine may be stained by dyes or bleaches. SELECTING THE PROGRAMME AND SPECIAL OPTIONS / STARTING THE PROGRAMME SELECTING THE PROGRAMME (see separate Programme Chart) a a For a washing machine WITH b temperature selector 1. Turn the programme knob clockwise to the programme with the temperature required. b SETTING SPECIAL OPTIONS (depending on the model, see also the separate Programme Chart). Spin speed reduction x Press this button to reduce the spin cycle speed. x The wash remains in the drum in the final rinse water without progressing to the spin cycle to reduce creasing. x This function is particularly recommended with programmes for Synthetics or Delicates, if the wash cannot be removed as soon as the programme comes to an end. x To terminate the programme: Press the Rinse hold button again; the programme will terminate automatically with the spin cycle for the preset wash programme. x x f ` Half load lightly soiled Available with programmes for Cottons and Synthetics, x Reduces water consumption, especially in rinse phase. x Particularly suitable for a lightly soiled wash or part loads (for part loads reduce the amount of detergent and additives). x x x S Cold water wash Available with all programmes Wash temperature is the same as the water supply temperature. n STARTING THE PROGRAMME 1. Press the “On/Off” button. 9 M 9 Y N C PROGRAMME END DOOR LOCK When you start the programme the door is automatically locked until the programme terminates. Important: leave the door slightly ajar so that the drum can dry properly. WHEN THE PROGRAMME COMES TO AN END Programme selector knob stops on “Stop” position 1. Cancel the options by pressing the concerned buttons. x CHANGING PROGRAMME 1. Press the “On/Off” button again. REMOVING THE FILTER / DRAINING RESIDUAL WATER WHEN MUST I REMOVE THE FILTER OR DRAIN RESIDUAL WATER?− When the appliance is to be moved − When the pump is blocked with foreign material (buttons, coins, safety pins, etc. ). Remove the coloured dispenser from the detergent compartment and use it to open the debris filter cover. Turn the knob anti-clockwise slowly until it is vertical; do not extract filter as yet. x Water inlet hose frozen up? x x x Detergent and additive product residues in detergent drawer at end of wash x Siphon installed correctly? [. . . ] The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red. 4 WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED Some appliances are supplied with moulded plugs. IMPORTANT: x The fuse cover must be refitted after changing a fuse x In the event of a fuse cover being misplaced, the plug must not be used until a correct replacement is fitted. x Please ensure that the replacement fuse cover is of the same colour as the insert or as the colour embossed in words on the base of the plug. If the moulded plug is not suitable for your sockets it should be cut off and thrown away to avoid any risk of electric shock if it were used in a 13 A socket elsewhere. [. . . ]
