[. . . ] INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE BEFORE USING THE WASHING MACHINE FIRST WASH CYCLE PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS DESCRIPTION OF THE WASHING MACHINE CHILD SAFETY PREPARATION OF THE WASHING DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES WASHING PROGRAMME REMOVING THE FILTER DRAINING RESIDUAL WATER CARE AND MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AFTER-SALES SERVICE TRANSPORT AND HANDLING INSTALLATION BEFORE USING THE WASHING MACHINE 1. Removing the packaging and check • After unpacking, make sure that the washing machine is undamaged. • Keep the packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene parts, etc. ) out of reach of children, as they are potentially dangerous. 6. Electrical connections • Electrical connections must be carried out by a qualified technician in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions and current standard safety regulations. • Voltage information, power consumption and electrical protection data are supplied on the inside of the appliance door. • The appliance must be connected to the mains exclusively by means of a socket with an earth connection in accordance with established regulations. [. . . ] • The start delay can be corrected: switch off the machine, then switch it on and press again “Start delay”: for 6 seconds you can choose a new delay time. • Cancelling the start delay: if, in fact, no start delay was actually desired, switch off the machine and then switch it on again. If the programme or options are changed after selecting the “Start delay” the programme starts if the desired time is reached. With liquid detergent, a dosing aid placed directly in the drum should be used if a start delay has been selected. Door lock The door locks automatically after the programme start until the end of the programme. If the programme selector is moved to the “Stop” position or if the electricity supply is interrupted, then after approximately one minute the door is released. In this case do not open the door, because hot water could be released from the appliance. Programme end The programme selector knob is at the stop position. Do not fully close the door but leave it ajar to allow the drum to dry out. Changing programme 1. Press the “On/Off” button. For this programme do not add any further detergent. Changing options The options can be selected or deselected without switching off the appliance. Programme interruption or pause To interrupt the running programme for a certain period and continue it at a later time: 1. Press the “On/Off” button. 2. Following the desired pause press the “On/Off” button once again. Cancelling the programme If the current programme is to be terminated prematurely and cancelled, the water must be pumped out first before the door can be opened: 1. Press the “On/Off” button to switch off the appliance. 3. Press the “On/Off” button in order to start the “Drain” programme. 26 REMOVING THE FILTER 1. Remove the coloured insert from the detergent dispenser and use it to open the filter cover. Turn the filter slowly anti-clockwise until the grip is vertical; do not extract filter as yet. Insert the filter and screw it fully down in a clockwise direction (until the grip is horizontal). 11. Pour 0. 5 l of water into the detergent dispenser to reactivate the “Eco System”. • Check the filter if the appliance is not draining properly or if it fails to perform spin cycles. • Remove the filter if the pump is blocked by an object (buttons, coins, safety pins, etc. ). IMPORTANT: Make sure the water has had time to cool before draining the appliance. DRAINING RESIDUAL WATER • Drain the residual water as described in the “Removing the Filter” chapter (points 1 to 8). • To drain the residual water from the pump, bend the machine frontward and operate as per points 9 and 10 of the previous chapter. • If the appliance is installed in a room subject to sub-zero temperatures. It is best in this case to drain the machine after every wash. 27 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Appliance exterior and control panel • Clean using normal household cleaner (do not use abrasive products and no solvents). • Periodically check the fold of the seal for foreign objects. Filter • Check and clean the filter two or three times a year (see “Removing the filter”). Door seal • Clean with a damp cloth when necessary. Detergent dispenser 1. Disengage the detergent dispenser by pressing the release lever in the prewash compartment and lately remove the drawer. 2. Remove the inserts softener compartment, the insert for liquid detergents and the siphon from the chlorine bleach compartment, (if available, four chambers model “A”). [. . . ] 2. Check water-tightness of tap and appliance connections by turning the tap completely on. If the hose is too short, replace it with a 3 m Water Stop hose (available from After-Sales Service or from your dealer). This operation must be carried out exclusively by a licensed electrician. The appliance must not be connected to the mixing tap of a non-pressurized water heater. [. . . ]
