Installation • Cut an opening in the worktop of the dimensions shown in the Product Description Sheet supplied separately. • Stretch gasket (D) over the edge of the hole made being careful to overlay the junction edges. • Turn the cooktop upside down and put tabs (A) into the seats provided, tightening screws (B) a few turns. • Please make sure that the tabs are correctly positioned as illustrated. [. . . ] • Please make sure that the tabs are correctly positioned as illustrated. • Put tabs (A) into place; tooth (C) of the tabs should fit into the hole. • Cut off the gasket (D) protruding from the cooktop with a sharp tool. 10 3gb66018. fm Page 11 Monday, August 26, 2002 3:34 PM Electrical Connection • The installer is responsible for the correct electrical connection of the appliance and the observance of the relative safety prescriptions. • The appliance must be connected to the mains, checking first of all that the voltage corresponds to the value given on the rating plate and that the section of the electrical wires can take the load indicated on the rating plate. • Fit a standard plug which is suitable for the power absorbed by the appliance. • The connection can be made directly to the mains by means of an all-pole disconnect switch with minimum contact gap of 3 mm. • When the appliance is installed, the switch or socket must always be accessible. • The supply cable must not come in contact with hot parts and must be positioned so that it does not exceed the temperature of 75°C at any point. • After the appliance has been installed, the electrical components must be inaccessible. No liability for damage or injury to persons or property will be accepted from the non-observance of these requirements. • Important: Do not use the ceramic griddle if the glass ceramic surface is cracked or damaged. If you note a crack, switch the appliance off and call for the After-Sales Service. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Clean the griddle, when it is cool, after each use. • Use a clean cloth, absorbent kitchen wipes and washing up liquid or a specific glass ceramic cleaner. • Remove baked-on dirt with a scraper which can be bought separately and a specific cleaning product. • Food encrustations should be cleaned off before they bake onto the griddle. • Do not use abrasive products, bleach, oven-cleaner spray or pan scourers. • Do not leave acid or alkaline substances, such as vinegar, salt or lemon juice, etc. • Do not put any object on the cooktop which can melt with heat such as plastic objects, aluminium foil or foods containing sugar. Should anything melt on the cooktop, remove it immediately (while the cooktop is still hot) using a special scraper to prevent any irreversible damage to the glass ceramic surface. • Do not use steam jet cleaners because the humidity could infiltrate into the appliance making it dangerous. 12 3gb66018. fm Page 13 Monday, August 26, 2002 3:34 PM TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE The griddle does not work: • Is there a power cut?
