You find information on that in the instructions for use of the respective device. With some Navigation Systems the supplied remote control must be taken out of the holder so that the system reacts to the Steering Wheel Remote Control. You have to replace the battery of the remote control, if the device to be controlled no longer responds to key presses even under favourable circumstances or the device to be controlled indicates a weak battery.
