Keep the packaging and operating instructions in a safe place in order to pass them on to a subsequent owner in the event of selling the unit at a later date. Discs that are dirty, dusty, scratched or deformed can lead to malfunctions. For discs that are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly soaked with isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol). Never use solvents such as benzene, thinners or conventional record cleaner. These substances can destroy the disc surface. A Operation Loading a disc 23 : : Carefully push the disc into the player's disc slot with the printed side facing upwards until it is drawn in. When the TFT monitor is open, you can swivel the monitor rearwards by a few centimetres with the IN/OUT button on the unit in order to facilitate access to the DVD drive. Remove the disc. Removing a disc Switching to DVD playback If a DVD is already inserted in the player: On the touchscreen, touch the DVD symbol in the OSD menu, or press the MODE button on the TFT monitor or on the remote control repeatedly until "DVD" is displayed. : Disc playback begins. DVD operation using the touchscreen During playback: Touch the touchscreen or press the OSD button on the remote control in order to display the OSD menu. The following information and functions are displayed: 1. Current title number and total number of titles on the DVD as well as current chapter number and total number of chapters in the current title 2. Show further DVD functions English 24 Operation Touch the "NEXT" symbol in order to access further DVD player functions: 12. Return to the other DVD functions Starting/stopping playback Touch the S symbol on the touchscreen to stop playback. Touch the S symbol twice to return to the first track/chapter of the inserted disc. The player is now in STOP mode. Video CDs with PBC (playback control) Video CDs with PBC can be played with or without a menu: Touch the "PBC" symbol on the touchscreen, or press the PBC button on the remote control to switch between playback with or without PBC. With "PBC on" some playback functions are restricted or not available. Pause (freeze frame) Touch the LM symbol during playback. Touch the y or x symbol during playback, or press the y or x button on the remote control in order to jump to the previous or next chapter. This function may not be available with some VCD2. 0 discs. Skip chapter/title Operation Fast search forwards/backwards 25 : You may have to touch the "NEXT" symbol before you can access the "<" and ">" symbols. Touch the < or > symbol during playback, or press the < or > button on the remote control in order to activate the fast search function. Each time the symbol is pressed, the fast forward/rewind speed changes as follows: 2x ­> 4x ­> 8x ­> 20x ­> normal. Calling up the DVD menu Touch the touchscreen, or press the OSD button on the remote control in order to display the OSD menu. The DVD menu is shown. Touch the 4, 6, 8 and 2-symbols on the touchscreen, or select the desired menu item using the 4, 6, 8 and 2 buttons on the remote control. With the "MOVE" symbol, you can move the control panel in order to see possibly hidden menu entries. Touch the "ENT" symbol on the touchscreen, or press the OK button to confirm the selection and start playback. Repeating a chapter/title During playback, press the Repeat button on the remote control one or several times in order to set the Repeat mode as follows: DVD: Repeat Title, Repeat Chapter, Repeat Off. VCD/CD: Repeat Single, Repeat Off. Marking and repeating a film sequence (A­>B) Press the A button on the remote control during playback to specify the beginning of a desired film sequence. [. . . ] Navigation instructions are then transmitted via the loudspeakers of the multimedia system. Reversing camera ­ "CAMERA": Connect a reversing camera to this input. If the switch input for the reverse gear is connected (see "Connection overview, Further connections"), the video image from the reversing camera is displayed automatically as soon as reverse gear is engaged. VDO Dayton reversing cameras can be connected via the MI 2050 interface. [. . . ]
