The following internet access options are available: WWW (internet browser) Opens the internet browser and establishes a connection to the World Wide Web (provided a homepage is specified). The pointer in the internet browser can be moved via the cursor buttons on the remote control. The screen symbols in the browser menu bar are used to control the browser functions. Further information on navigation within the browser can be found under "SYSTEM REMOTE CONTROL". Information on internet browser: In order to be able to use the internet functions, a user profile must first be created and the provider settings must be made. Plug-ins such as Shockwave or Flash are not supported. Settings Opens the menu for configuration of the internet access with the following settings: s Profile One of three possible user profiles can be selected, in which the individual homepages and dial-in parameters can be stored. s Provider One of three possible provider profiles can be selected for dial-in. The provider data required for dial-in can be entered under "Parameters". s Mobile The type of mobile phone connected to the MC 5400 can be selected. s Load images This stipulates whether or not images on internet pages should be downloaded (may save time and connection charges). next page. 17 English INTERNET ACCESS Setting parameters for internet access Configuring user profile Select the desired user profile via the option "Settings ­> Profile" in the "Internet access" menu. Select "Profile" in order to enter or change the data for the selected user profile. The following parameters can be entered: s Name The selected user profile can be allocated a name. s POP3 See under "MAILBOX ACCESS - Configuring user profile". s SMTP See under "MAILBOX ACCESS - Configuring user profile". s @Name See under "MAILBOX ACCESS - Configuring user profile". s @Address See under "MAILBOX ACCESS - Configuring user profile". s @Passwd See under "MAILBOX ACCESS - Configuring user profile". s Start page A homepage for the WWW can be entered, which is automatically selected at each call-up of the internet browser. s PW query The password check for the e-mail password can be activated / deactivated. 18 INTERNET ACCESS Configuring provider profile Select the desired provider profile via the option "Settings ­> Provider" in the "Internet access" menu. Select "Provider" in order to enter or change the data for the selected provider profile. The following parameters can be entered: s Name The selected provider profile can be allocated a name. s Opt. Init* Enter the INIT string (possibly specified by the provider) for the connected mobile phone (mainly for GPRS). s PW query The password check for the provider password can be activated / deactivated. [. . . ] The adapter is then inserted in the PCMCIA slot (wide slot) of the MC 5400. Inserting PCMCIA adapter Push the memory card with the stored MP3 data into the PCMCIA adapter (see adapter operating instructions). With the arrow mark pointing forwards, push the adapter up to the limit stop in the PCMCIA slot. Removing PCMCIA adapter Press the eject button on the right of the PCMCIA slot and remove the adapter. Operating software The operating system of the MC 5400 is stored on a CompactFlash card, which is inser® ted in the CF slot of the multimedia centre. The CompactFlash card can be exchanged in the case of software updates or software extensions for the MC 5400. ® A A A Never remove the CompactFlash card from the CF slot (narrow card slit) of the MC 5400, if the red LED on the right of the CF slot still illuminates. Failure to observe this, results in danger of data loss or even destruction of the unit. ® Use only original VDO Dayton CF memory cards with operating software, which is approved for the MC 5400.
