PURPOSE
Th e "Adjustment Proced u re" is used to return t he instrument to conformance with its "Performance R eq u irements" as listed in the "Specification" (Section 1) . T hese ad ju stments should be performed only afte r t he chec ks in the "Performance C hec k Proce dure" (Section 4) have i nd icated need fo r ad justment of the instrument.
be accomp lished at an am b ient temperatu re between +20°C and +30° C, an d th e instrume nt must have had warm-up perio d of at least 20 minutes.
PARTIAL PROCEDURES
This procedu re is structured in subsections to permit ad justment of in d ivid ual sectio n s of the instrument (except the Power Supply) whenever complete rea djustment is not required . For exam p le, if only the Vertical section fails to meet the Perfo rma nce R equirements (o r has had repairs ma d e or components re p lace d ), it can be readj usted with little or no effect on ot her sections of the inst rument. However, if the Powe r S up ply sectio n has undergone repairs or adj ustments that change the absolute value of any of the su pp ly voltages, complete readju stment of the i nst rume nt may be required . At t h e begin n i ng of each subsection th ere is an equi pmentreq u ired list sh owing only the test equ i pment necessary for performi ng th e steps in that su bsection. In th is list, the item number following each piece of equi p ment correspond s to the item nu mber listed in Ta ble 4-1 .
Before pe rforming th is proced ure, d o not preset any internal controls and do not ch ange th e -8 . 6-V Power-
8. 11 .
Make i nitial co n trol setti ngs as listed at t he beginni ng of each s ub section. T hen co nn ect t he test equ i pme n t to an appropriate ac-power-in put source an d connect the 2215 to variable autotransformer (Item 10 in Ta ble 4-1) that is set for 115 V ac . App ly powe r an d allow 20-minute warm-up period before commencing any adjustme nts .
The most accurate display ad ju stme nts are ma d e with stable, well-focused , low-intensity display . Unless ot herwise noted , adju st the AUTO I NTEN SITY, AUTO FOC US, and TR IGGER LEVEL controls as need ed to view the display. Wherever possible in th is procedure, instrume nt performance is first ch eck ed before an a dju stme n t is made. Steps co ntain ing bot h c h ecks an d ad ju stments are titled "Chec k/Ad just. " Those steps with only chec ks are title d "Chec k. "
