Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red. Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal of a three-pin plug. NOTE After replacing or changing a fuse, the fuse cover in the plug must be replaced with a fuse cover which corresponds to the colour of the insert in the base of the plug or the word that is embossed on the base of the plug, and the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover. [. . . ] The signal earth (H) is designed to reduce noise when listening to AM radio. Use 56 meters of vinyl-insulated wire and set up either indoors (A) or outdoors (B). Use 75 coaxial cable with a PAL connector to hook up an external FM antenna (C). Before making or changing any rear panel connections, make sure that all the components are switched off and unplugged from the power supply. This will allow you to record from this system to an external digital recorder. Please refer to the manual that came with the unit for operation instructions. 1 Connect the AUX IN jacks of the CD tuner to the ANALOG OUT jacks of the CD recorder. 2 Connect the SYSTEM CABLE jacks of the CD tuner to the ANALOG IN jacks of the adapter box supplied with the CD recorder. Before connecting the power and switching on for the first time make sure that everything is connected up properly. Many of the features of this system are accessed from menus displayed in the CD tuner's fluorescent display. Setting the repeat mode to REPEAT ALL plays the tracks in the playlist over and over. Using random play To have the CD player play the tracks on a disc in a different order each time you play the disc, use the random play function. Pressing 7 during random play stops playback, and random play mode is cancelled. You can use either of the repeat modes together with the random play mode. Setting the repeat mode to REPEAT ALL endlessly plays all the tracks on the disc at random. In repeat track mode, just the current randomly selected track repeats. You can choose to display various kinds of information during playback and stop modes. When a disc is stopped TOTAL TIME displays the number of tracks and the total playing time of the disc When a disc is playing Elapsed track time (default) displays the track number and the time elapsed TRACK REMAIN displays the track number and track time still remaining * In random play mode, the ALL REMAIN display is not available. If you often listen to a particular radio station, it's convenient to have the receiver store the frequency for easy recall whenever you want to listen to that station. Having saved up to 30 station presets (see page 33), you can be listening to a station with a couple of button presses. If the system is left disconnected from the AC power outlet for a lengthy period, the station presets will be lost and will have to be reprogrammed. [. . . ] If necessary, use a cloth soaked in alcohol, or a commercially available CD or DVD cleaning kit to clean a disc more thoroughly. Never use benzine, thinner or other cleaning agents, including products designed for cleaning vinyl records. ⷠDon't wipe the disc surface using circular strokes. Although CDs and DVDs are more durable than vinyl records, you should still take care to handle and store discs correctly. [. . . ]
