[. . . ] To prevent the risk of electric shock when connecting or disconnecting the speaker cables, disconnect the power cord before touching any D3-4-2-2-3_A_En uninsulated parts. WARNING To prevent a fire hazard, do not place any naked flame sources (such as a lighted candle) on the D3-4-2-1-7a_A_En equipment. Operating Environment Operating environment temperature and humidity: +5 ºC to +35 ºC (+41 ºF to +95 ºF); less than 85 %RH (cooling vents not blocked) Do not install this unit in a poorly ventilated area, or in locations exposed to high humidity or direct sunlight (or D3-4-2-1-7c_A_En strong artificial light) VENTILATION CAUTION When installing this unit, make sure to leave space around the unit for ventilation to improve heat radiation (at least 15 cm at top, 10 cm at rear, and 10 cm at each side). WARNING Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable operation of the product, and to protect it from overheating. To prevent fire hazard, the openings should never be blocked or covered with items (such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains) or by operating the D3-4-2-1-7b_A_En equipment on thick carpet or a bed. 10 cm or more CAUTION The STANDBY/ON switch on this unit will not completely shut off all power from the AC outlet. Since the power cord serves as the main disconnect device for the unit, you will need to unplug it from the AC outlet to shut down all power. Therefore, make sure the unit has been installed so that the power cord can be easily unplugged from the AC outlet in case of an accident. [. . . ] · When playing Video CD/Super VCDs, some of the functions are not available during PBC playback. If you want to use them, start the disc playing using a number button to select a track. · Many features are not available when using unfinalized CD-R/RW discs. · If you open the disc tray and load a DVD, Video CD/Super VCD or JPEG disc in the front-most position then press (play) (on the front panel), CD mode is canceled. · You can't switch on CD mode while playing a DVD or Video CD/Super VCD. · Although program play is not possible in CD mode, it is possible to program a playlist. · Repeat and random play is possible in CD mode (see Using repeat play on page 45 and Using random play on page 46). Playing only CDs and WMA/ MP3 discs (CD mode) Using this feature you can play only the CDs and WMA/MP3 discs loaded in the disc tray-- automatically skipping over any DVDs and Video CD/Super VCDs loaded. This may be useful if you have a mixture of discs loaded but only want to play music: you don't have to keep track of what kind of disc is where in the disc tray. Once all the CD/WMA/MP3 discs loaded have played, playback automatically stops. · To cancel the CD mode, press CD MODE (SHIFT + DISC SKIP) again. Scanning discs You can fast-scan discs forward or backward at various different speeds. · There is no sound while scanning DVDs and Video CD/Super VCDs, and no subtitles while scanning DVDs. · When scanning a Video CD/Super VCD or a WMA/MP3 track, playback automatically resumes at the end or beginning of the track. 43 En 06 Playing discs · Depending on the disc, normal playback may automatically resume when a new chapter is reached on a DVD disc. Using the Disc Navigator to browse the contents of a disc Use the Disc Navigator to browse through the contents of a disc to find the part you want to play. · You can't use random play with VR format DVD-RW discs, or while a DVD disc menu is being displayed. 2 Select `Random' from the list of functions on the left. Play Mode 3 Select a repeat play option. If program play is active, select Program Repeat to repeat the program list, or Repeat Off to cancel. · For DVD discs, select Title Repeat or Chapter Repeat (or Repeat Off). Play Mode A-B Repeat Repeat Random Program Search Mode Title Repeat Chapter Repeat Repeat Off · For CDs and Video CD/Super VCDs, select All Discs Repeat, Disc Repeat or Track Repeat (or Repeat Off). · For WMA/MP3 discs, select All Discs Repeat, Disc Repeat, Folder Repeat or Track Repeat (or Repeat Off). 3 A-B Repeat Repeat Random Program Search Mode Random Title Random Chapter Random Off Select a random play option. · For DVD-Video discs, select Random Title or Random Chapter (or Random Off) Play Mode · You can also use the REPEAT (SHIFT + 2) button on the remote to select a repeat play mode. The repeat mode is indicated in the front panel display and on-screen. The repeat modes available are the same as when choosing from the Play Mode menu. A-B Repeat Repeat Random Program Search Mode Random Title Random Chapter Random Off 46 En Playing discs 06 · For CDs, Video CD/Super VCDs and WMA/ MP3 discs, select Random All, Random Disc (or Random Off). · The Random All function ignores DVDs loaded in the player. · You can't use Program play with VR format DVD-RW discs, or while a DVD disc menu is being displayed. 1 Make sure that the DVD disc you want to make the program list for is in the play position.
