[. . . ] 1/4"-20 Adapter for SkyView Deluxe Equatorial Mount #3800 This adapter plate allows for attachment of a wide variety of instruments to the Orion SkyView Deluxe Equatorial Mount (#9400). [. . . ] The adapter was designed with two 1/4"-20 screws to fit the Orion ArgonautTM 150mm Maksutov-Cassegrain optical tube, or other instruments that have a similar mounting plate. Choose the hole that will afford the best balance point for the instrument relative to the mount's declination axis. Using the Allen wrench provided, tighten the mounting screw(s) until the adapter plate is held securely to the instrument (do not overtighten or you may strip the receptacle threads). Next, screw the adapter plate (with the telescope or camera attached) to the equatorial mount's head with the two captive tube ring mounting bolts supplied with the mount. If the entire assembly is not held rigidly, one or all of the connections may need further tightening. The 1/4"-20 Adapter is made of aluminum and has a durable, anodized finish.
