[. . . ] Each SC (Service Channel program) broadcast contains LANG (Language service) and PTY (Program Type service) as transmission data and by using this information you can select and tune in to your favorite programs from the same beam. Generally, WS broadcast services are free, however some pay broadcast services can also be received by contract. Set the Voltage selector to your local voltage before plugging the power cord into the wall outlet. If the unit is connected to the AC outlet, the ON/STANDBY indicator is lit, even when the unit enters standby mode. [. . . ] If more than one beam name appears during the beam seek, you can select the desired beam by doing steps 4 - 7 on page 19 after the beam seek. Before doing the following steps, turn the unit on and select WS (WorldSpace digital broadcast). Press SC UP (:) or SC DOWN (;) repeatedly until the desired SC number of the BC selected in step 1 appears in the display window. If the current BC has plural SC numbers, SC numbers change in order according to the number. Since the last selected BC and SC is memorized in the unit, you can listen to the last received SC by adjusting the WS antenna. If a BC name has more than 8 characters, the first 8 characters of the BC name appear first and then the rest characters appear in the display window. after that the selected 8 characters of the BC name appear in the display window. Sometimes until the selected 8 characters appear, the first 8 and the rest characters appear alternately. The number of SCs in the selected BC appears in the display window for 2 seconds. Before doing the following steps, turn the unit on and select WS (WorldSpace digital broadcast). The unit tunes in the beam and the BC to which the desired SC belongs. When no SC is memorized on the number button, "NO MEMO" appears. For each SC (Service Channel program), the language is included as transmission data. "LANG" and the current language (the factory preset is "ENGLISH") appear in the display window. While the language is lit, press SC UP (:) repeatedly until the desired language appears in the display window. The language changes as the following listed order by pressing SC UP (:) repeatedly. NOTE: The language changes in the reverse order when you press SC DOWN (;). Even if you do not press the ENTER button, "LANG" remains lit and the BC name appears after 10 seconds. While the PTY name is lit, press SC UP (:) repeatedly until the desired PTY name appears in the display window. NOTE: The PTY changes in the reverse order when you press SC DOWN (;). Even if you do not press the ENTER button, "PTY" remains lit and the BC name appears after 10 seconds. When the current SC is over and another SC is automatically selected, LANG takes precedence over PTY.
