Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Unobstructed airflows inside the routing switcher and outside its vents keep the air movement clean and effective. The Trinix NXT routing switcher also offers enhanced signal protection with three different redundancy options. These options include powerful protected paths and protected router solutions, which combine survivability with improved reliability, as well as the redundant matrix option. The result of all of this attention to detail is industry-leading performance, which results in greater predictability. [. . . ] As a result, the airflow of the routing switcher follows naturally from bottom to top, which suits air conditioning installations as they are designed to handle hotter air higher up. The architecture exhausts through a single vent, which, unlike other designs, can easily be kept unobstructed when the router is cabled. By reducing its cards and connectors, the routing switcher increases its internal airspace. This airspace, along with its low-power circuitry, this makes the Trinix NXT platform much easier to cool. For this reason, the routing switcher is more resistant to hotspots which can both degrade signal performance and cause early failure. Better cooling therefore makes for better circuit operation and higher reliability. CleanFlow Superior Design The CleanFlow architecture is the key to the performance and intrinsic reliability of the Trinix NXT routing switcher. This architecture reduces the number of separate circuit cards which, in turn, shrinks the number of local power supply circuits, interconnections, and distributed control circuits. With fewer repeated circuits, the Trinix NXT routing switcher has an industry-leading lowpower consumption, which reduces operating costs as well as operating temperatures and air-conditioning expenses. However, the key benefit of the platform is its comprehensive signal handling. Fewer circuits mean more straightforward signal paths and more room on boards for optimized layouts. Special circuit board substrate materials, the use of the latest generation of 3 Gb/s circuits, and other design techniques enhance the ability of these boards to TRiNiX NXT REdUNdANcY OpTiONS The fully protected paths option of the Trinix NXT platform protects all circuit paths in the router--all the way back to redundant sources if you use them (see below). A failure in any circuit board or in the signal-source chain triggers an automatic failover. As the most cost-effective way to protect your most important signal paths, this option uses the Trinix NXT system's passive port expander tools--the same splitting and combining circuits used in expanded systems. These tools offer maximum reliability at no added power cost and can be implemented in single- or dual-router configurations. TRINIX NXT 3Gb/s DIGITAL VIDEO ROUTER Protected Path Redundancy Redundant Sources K2 Each path takes a separate route through the routing switcher using different input cards, matrix cards, and output cards for full protection. In Out Matrix Passive Combiner K2 In Out Matrix www. grassvalley. com product data sheet reason, the Trinix NXT routing switcher can deliver the additional protection of a redundant solution without degrading its reliability. Protected Router The protected router system uses the same dual-path system as the protected-path scheme and has the same high-reliability passive-path selection. Because it protects the whole router the second routing switcher takes over if any component fails for any reason. Duplicate routing switchers may seem extravagant, but in key situations they make a lot of sense. Remember that if you install two routing switchers in a dual redundant configuration you do not need redundant components within each routing switcher, an on-the-shelf spare, or even a patch bay. Rather than have your backup solutions on the shelf, you can have them online 24x7, waiting and ready to automatically switch on. The platform also includes four monitor outputs. Unlike assigning normal outputs to monitoring duties, these are true output monitors so you can really see the signal leaving the routing switcher, not just another copy of the input. The Trinix NXT routing switcher is supported by all Thomson Grass ValleyTM control systems. These include the EncoreTM facility control system, JupiterTM router control system, and Series 7000 control system.
