7. A plug (9) is included in this kit and can be installed in place of the covered fitting if desired. To install a drain tube, remove the plug and install the supplied 90° tube fitting (8) in its place. (13 mm) ID flexible plastic tube (not supplied) to the fitting to drain any overflow to a pail. Fill wet cup 1/3 full of Graco Throat Seal Liquid or a compatible solvent. Allow 2 hours for the adhesive to cure before returning the pump to service.
Be sure to use at least two people when lifting, moving, or connecting the pump. If you are connecting the displacement pump to a motor that is still mounted (for example, on a ram), be sure to support the displacement pump while it is being connected, to prevent it from falling and causing injury or property damage. Do this by securely bracing the displacement pump, or by having at least two people hold it while another connects it.
1. Remove the existing displacement pump from the hydraulic motor as explained in your Viscount pump manual. Place the washers (12) and nuts (13) onto the tie rods and torque to 68-81 N·m (51-59 ft-lb). Slide coupling nut up and tighten using a torque wrench with a claw foot. Torque to 196-210 N·m (145-154 ft-lb).
