The calculation for the number of packages is: 106 / 4 = 26. 5 The calculation for the size of each package is: 106 / 27 = 3. 92 Max FSS Sort/Facility Pallet Sets the maximum pallet weight for both the FSS Weight Sort Plan and the FSS Facility pallet. This parameter is available in only Standard Mail and Mixedclass co-mail schemes. 14 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 Flats Sequencing System (FSS) Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 15 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 Standard Mail (STD) carrier route basic optimization to automation prices FSS reports Qualification Report Pieces in FSS bundles receive either carrier route, 5-digit automation, or 5-digit non-automation rates. These pieces are displayed in the corresponding columns on the Qualification report. Mail Sort Listing FSS pieces are marked as follows in the Mail Sort Listing report: · · FSS level packages are marked as FSS destination. FSS Facility Pallets are marked as FSSF. Standard Mail (STD) carrier route basic optimization to automation prices The Optimize ECR Basic to Auto 5DG parameter has been renamed to Optimize ECR Basic to Automation. The Optimize ECR Basic to Automation parameter can be found in the following schemes: · · STD, Letter Trays on Pallets (when preparing both ECR and automation trays). STD, Enhanced Carrier Route Letters (when followed by STD, Automation Letters at the same entry point). When you set the Optimize ECR Basic to Automation parameter to Yes, Presort moves carrier route basic priced pieces to additional levels (not just the 5-digit level). In most cases this helps you obtain the best possible price within automation mail. For example, Presort might relocate pieces in a profit, or REG, rate-level job as follows: 16 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 Standard Mail (STD) carrier route basic optimization to automation prices Moved from this rate Moved to this rate 5-digit barcode (5B) or 5-digit\scheme ECR basic 3-digit barcode (3B) or 3-digit\scheme AADC barcode (AB) Presort might relocate pieces in a non-profit, or NONPROF, rate-level job as follows: Moved from this rate Moved to this rate 5-digit barcode (5B) or 5-digit\scheme 3-digit barcode (3B) or 3-digit\scheme ECR basic AADC barcode (AB) Mixed AADC barcode (MB) Note: To qualify for STD carrier route letter prices, your pieces must be automation-compatible and barcoded. Optimization cannot take place if you have the Use ECR Reg Flat Rates parameter set to Yes. The maximum weight for STD carrier route pieces is 3. 5 ounces, the same weight as STD automation letters (see DMM 243. 3. 2. b). Set the PER/STD/PSVC QFY for DDU Rate DDU parameter in the Entry Point Description block to Yes. 18 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 Presort 8. 00c. 06. 00 Release Notes, December 2010 AADC and ADC trays on SCF pallets In most cases, carrier route basic priced mail with the DSCF discount applied is cheaper than a corresponding automation no-entry price. Presort accounts for this DSCF price only when you define the entry points in Presort. Presort does not account for the DSCF price if you assign entry points in a post-sort process via a Mail. dat editor. For example, if Presort applied the DSCF discount to carrier route basic pieces you enter at the correct DDU facility, the rate would be $0. 219. You would save money because the 5-digit barcode rate would be $0. 233. Mailing qualification Presort does not do anything during optimization to retain enough pieces at carrier route basic price in order to meet the minimum of 200 pieces or 50 pounds at the carrier route level. If Presort can't transfer enough pieces to automation at different rate levels, the rest of that mail would not qualify for carrier route basic rate and would end up in the automation mailing. AADC and ADC trays on SCF pallets Set the Create ADC Tray on SCF Plt parameter to Yes in the STD, Letter Trays on Pallets scheme to place AADC and ADC letter trays on SCF pallets. Note that the 3-digit ZIP Code on the tray label needs to be within the SCF's service area. AADC and ADC letter trays on SCF pallets are eligible for the DNDC destination price. Note: If the No Sorting After parameter is set to SCF, the software still creates and places AADC trays on SCF pallets. Standard Mail and First Class letters and flats There are times when you might want to force Standard Mail and First Class records into the single-piece price. Usually this is done because you want to use the original address on the piece and not the corrected address from NCOALink/CASS/LACS. Use the PW. FORCE_SP input field to mark records that you want to force to the single-piece price.
