Join line icon
Description
The custom query builder cannot determine the join type.
Remove a join
To remove a join, in the Relations pane, select the join, and then press the Delete key. The custom query builder removes the join and alters the statement in the SQL pane. By entering your choices into a spreadsheet-like grid, the Column pane of the Custom Query window allows you to specify query options, such as which data columns to display, how to order the results, and what rows to select. In the Column pane you can specify: Columns to display and column name aliases. Changes you make in the Column pane are automatically reflected in the Relations pane and SQL pane. Similarly, the Column pane is updated automatically to reflect changes made in the other panes.

Specifies that the associated data column is used to sort the query results and whether the sort is ascending or descending. Specifies the sort priority for data columns used to sort the result set. When you change the sort order for a data column, the sort order for all other columns is updated accordingly. Specifies that the associated data column is being used to create an aggregate query. When you move to a cell in this column and select an aggregate function to apply to the associated data column, by default the resulting expression is added as an output column for the result set. Specifies a search condition (filOperators available for use: ter) for the associated data col= equal to umn. <= less than or equal to If you enter values for more than one cell in the Criteria column, > greater than the resulting search conditions >= greater than or equal to are automatically linked with a logical AND. To specify multiple search condition expressions for a single database column [for example, (fname > `A') AND (fname < `M')], add the data column to the Column pane twice and enter separate values in the Criteria grid column for each instance of the data column. Specifies an additional search condition expression for the data column, linked to previous expressions with a logical OR. Logical OR only displays if you enter data in the criteria column.

The SQL pane
The SQL pane of the Custom Query window displays the SQL statement for your query. In this pane, you can enter the SQL statements directly, or you can edit statements created in other panes. In this pane, you have access to the Edit menu's options for copying, cutting, and pasting text. [. . . ] Having this information allows you to evaluate these rows and make necessary adjustments so that each of these customers meets the pre-determined business rule criteria.

At this point, you might want to save these results in a report and export it to whomever is responsible for correcting and/or gathering customer data. You can also use the Save Data As function in the Results window to export the data for further analysis, manual review by stakeholders, or input to a cleansing process.
Truth data queries
Truth data queries allow you to validate your address data. Data Insight uses Data Quality technology to provide data results that you can use to make management decisions. For example, the results will allow you to prioritize which addresses or data sources to cleanse. [. . . ]
