Hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. [. . . ] Do not insert fingers or thumb into the vicinity of the reciprocating blade and blade clamp. Dull or damaged blades may cause the saw to swerve or stall under pressure. Always use the appropriate type of saw blade for the workpiece material and type of cut. When cutting pipe or conduit, make sure that they are free from water, electrical wiring, etc. Do not touch the workpiece or the blade immediately after operating the tool. Be aware of hidden hazards, before cutting into walls, floors or ceilings, check for the location of wiring and pipes. Always switch the tool off and wait for the saw blade to come to a complete standstill before putting the tool down. This appliance is not intended for use by young or infirm persons without supervision. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Contact with, or inhalation of dusts arising from cutting applications may endanger the health of the operator and possible bystanders. Wear a dust mask specifically designed for protection against dust and fumes and ensure that persons within or entering the work area are also protected. Electrical safety This tool is double insulated; therefore no earth wire is required. Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised Black & Decker service centre in order to avoid a hazard. Before attempting any of the following operations, make sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged and that the saw blade has stopped. Push the shoe plate (4) forward until it touches the back edge of the saw blade (7). C) Before fitting or removing the saw blade (7) the saw blade support roller (5) must be adjusted to the rear position so that it does not contact the blade.
