Select Create an MS-DOS startup disk from the format options field, then click Start. Windows® 2000 environment To create a set of boot disks for Windows® 2000: a. Copy the original or the latest motherboard BIOS file to the bootable floppy disk. 2. 1. 2 Using AFUDOS to copy the current BIOS The AFUDOS. EXE utility can also be used to copy the current system BIOS settings to a floppy or hard disk. The copy can be used as a backup in case the system BIOS fails or gets corrupted. At the DOS prompt, type the command line: afudos /o<filename> where "filename" can be any user provided filename of not more than eight (8) alpha-numeric characters for the main filename and three (3) alpha-numeric characters for the extension name. AFUDOS also allows you to copy the original BIOS file to a floppy diskette. Visit the ASUS website (www. asus. com) to download the latest BIOS file for your motherboard. Save the BIOS file to a bootable floppy disk. Write down the BIOS file name to a piece of paper. Copy the AFUDOS. EXE utility from the support CD to the bootable floppy disk that contains the BIOS file. At the DOS prompt, type the command line: afudos /i<filename. rom> where "filename. rom" means the latest (or original) BIOS file that you copied to the bootable floppy disk.
